ok, this is kendra with my thoughts on the first period/last 15 years. the biggest thing i've learned is to stop falling for montreal canadians fans. they will break your heart as will the team. it was disapointing that mike cammelerri scored. i would have liked it if he waited for the jets to score first. might be a penalty shot......no but another penalty. so also, vanessa and rebecca also told me blogging is better than twitter as it is forever. a fourth power play for the jets so lets make this happen. i have considered naming a child if i ever have one after the first jet who scores today, here is hoping it's evander kane as i could also say he was named after my cousin evan. the jets are a little cautious i think, playing it by fear perhaps. i do sure like the chanting. vanessa is either drinking organic soda or red bull. eric went to work. there is open mike comedy at the cavern also a going away party at my family home. the jets have a great looking team, we all agree about this. my dad wanted to go to the game with steven harper. there was evander with a solid shot. WHAT?! the queen's portrait must hang at all cdn legions AND at the winnipeg jets game. plain and simple.

second period:

5-on-3 for the bruins (the remnants of some misdirected manlove at the end of the first). vanessa's thinking of not watching the 2nd or 3rd game so she can go on a date! must be serious!

during the second intermission smoke break we met a young fellow riding a bike who was very angry. he had just thrown his phone into the river he was so frustrated with the conversation. we told him to enjoy his freedom.

michael j & ron mclean are super cute. boston and vancouver are michael j's favourite teams. why is michael j fox hanging out with gary bettmann? during the jets press conference everyone booed when gary bettmann came on.

third period:

"both goalies are spectacular" we're still sitting at a no goal game.

kendra wants to buy one single winnipeg thrashers season ticket (paid for by sponsors) and make friends with whoever she randomly sits besides...for 5 years. "it will force me to be single!" discussion on whether we can actually afford to buy season tickets and lock in to multi-year plans. "that's what visa is for!", vanessa.

raffi torres scores!!! 18 seconds left in the 3rd. 1-0 canucks! game over. we were all preparing for overtime. thankful for a good night's sleep and luongo's shutout!

growing up with the weakerthans

last night two fifths of nervoustime, gsp and myself went to see the weakerthans play their last four albums at the burton cummings theatre in winnipeg. scott oake wasn't there but sally was and that was good. the albums were played backwards and commentary and tears reminded me of things i've learned and loved about the last 13 years, sidewalks, north kildonan, frozen lakes. if nothing else the 49 songs essentially provide 49 ways to love winnipeg. and i think of my favorite winnipeg citizens, both past and present and an interesting part was in 'wellington's wednesday' they took it a little further with the new order lyric "oh it's the last time". but it wasn't. the weakerthans are going on even though not ever thing else has gone on in the last 13 years. what i can say about that is the three hours of emotion reminded me that you can be as wide eyed as the rest at 30 as you can at 20 or 25 or 33. and somewhere love and justice does shine cause it was shining through the whole place last night. and i can't escape nostalgia and that isn't a bad thing. who we are and where we've lived and what we've lived for and the songs we've sang along the way are all the small parts of the days we've spent together and will continue to spend with others we might not even have met yet. and i did hang diplomas on my bathroom wall and i'm happy the total came to three. and who knows what will happen and maybe there will be more. if i can take what i know now about open hearts and risk and love all of my past reviews can be 8.4's or 9.2's using pitchfork's system and thanks for the wishes that did dishes and for the flowers and that book.

and most of all i believe i will find another album to love like i loved fallow and i wish the same for everyone.

Game 1: excitment abounds.
