Second Round!!! Sens v. Pens (whoa rhyme)

hey, it's kendra here back watching with the winkworth sisters. great to be watching hockey!! apparently the question is whether ottawa will continue it's magical mystery tour. second period is about to start, i was late because of dinner made by my bro (thanks graeme!)

i am rooting for ottawa, rebecca 'welll....." vanessa is cheering for ottawa too, 'the pens are too all star, like the harlem globetrotters' rebecca also refered to the pens as a musical tempo in the past, we remember, vanessa now says 'the pens are reggae, the sens are calyppso'

shout out to the guy from the lc who recommended some cheap wine that's a twist off, merlot. it's 2-1 pittsburgh. where is fluery, not doing very well apparently.

standards in the league for bounciest walls? apparently in pittsburgh it is the bounciest wall in the league.

james neal roughing. nothing happened there.

apparently there are new skyscrapers coming on fort street, and they will include a grocery store. there has also been some conterversy with the albert, there is a boycott so it won't be a punk venue, it is depressing and vanessa is angry. some people were fired because of the toasted bun. there is a real discussion coming here between vanessa and rebecca about this, i have no idea about the situation. they have been saying for eight years it will go back but it's 'turned into a little cartoon of itself, dare i say like another local organization riding on the coat tails of what it used to be.'

someone was fired in a facebook status. rebecca read an article in the spectator that suggested it all might be a social media strategy, more people are talking about the albert than ever before. http://www.spectatortribune.com/article/a-call-to-arms-for-the-royal-albert/

our next birthday party is at the windsor (2014).

(i just noticed we started talking about matt tapscott who we ususally do once a playoff).

hahha, referring to a different guy:

me, to rebecca 'i think he likes you!' rebecca ' i think he likes you!' vanessa 'maybe he likes both of you'

rebecca comments that people need to tell her three times if they liked her, this actually happened to me also too. 'we really should not be that way'

another pentalty and rebecca is comparing the guy i like to ron hainsey 'they are both handsome and both have wide set eyes'. someone also made her a mix tape.

amazing goal pittsburgeh. that was a great. i had no idea crosby was even playing. 'he has new teeth'. another good play. karlsson is so cute, vanessas fave part of the ottawa senators.

second period is over. 3-1.

discussion of astronauts and how much they get paid, what taxes you'd have to pay, what if something happens, what is your life insurance policy.  also discussion that astronauts distract from the experimental lakes etc.

quote 'is this the kind of personality that we need to get our young people excited again'

we had an amazing bump in with sally and tyler on the break and they were so cute talking about their picks, tyler 'i usually go for the city i like best. montreal.' and sally leaving revealing she is going for the blackhawks.

vanessa has an nhl sticker on her codebook which is why she thinks she is doing so well on her exams.

has anyone seen malkin's parents these playoffs?

vanessa says the redwings anaheim series was amazing. teemu was amazing and the redwings won three overtimes. and she was wearing her zetterberg jersey for all four games that they one. and detroit is in chic tomorrow. i am cheering for chicago, so is becca. that will be a nervoustime.

apparently the girls' uncle hartley ran into teemu in edmoton and told him we need teppo back in winnipeg!

teemu agreed.

currently eating nibs, so so so good.

vanessa, 'even i was sad for the leafs last night'.

discussion of evander kane's tweets, whether or not he can keep a straight face when he talks, how he was one of the three people becca followed that she doesn't like but has now unfollowed.

still 3-1.

we are all tired.

i can't see ottawa pulling a bruins comeback in this game. oh, so lupul tweeted, the game will haunt me for the rest of my life. i was in toronto actually and it was devestating. however, cheers to my sister in law julie for still wearing the because it's the cup shirt i bought her.

'eat your pasta immediately ' a message from delucas.

why isn't gonchar scoring any goals?

vanessa watched the last episode of game of thrones 'it was so wild. i missed the details in the middle as usual but the endings, it was the coolest thing i've ever seen on a tv show. I LOVE JAMIE LANNISTER.' - vanessa. //

rebecca 'he has redeemed some of the bad things he's done.' oh rebecca is still mad at him for pushing bran out the window.

she is re-reading book three. 'i read three sentances and five of the main characters have died.'

i think the last part of book four is jaime's continuation into my favorite.

discussion of theon greyjoy. james neal back in the penalty box.

discussion of who should be the offical favorite game of thrones character of nervoustime - 'jon snow'

rebecca 'there is lots of sex in the book too' vanessa 'it should, it's 1000 pages.'

who does ottawa else have for a goalie? anderson isn't having a good game.

vanessa 'someone's gotta win the first game. it doesn't matter. nobody goes out in four except the canucks.'

discussion of stats on how game one wins will lead to winning. 'the best thing about hockey is that you can look up the stats'

rebecca asks the group about the stat she wants -round two the team that wins the first game if the game is on a tuesday and the sky is clear how many times will they sweep the series? - doesn't ron mclean know that kind of stuff?

james neal back in the penalty box.

you know 'a four one lead is the worst lead in hockey'

shout out to jen who rebecca forgot to text (sorry). #jenfunkneedstwitter

discussion of hockey players and where they are vacationing. i didn't run into any of them on my trip.

that california series is going to be late late late. logan couture is such a babe.

discussion of people who's twitters we look at or facebooks we have who are unhealthy really and why we still do it

the little ceaser's pizza price has increased.

best pizza, delucas.

we want to go to vj's this weekend. there is a new restaurant opening on sherbrook. vanessa asked if it will be called 'the moose and maple' or 'the green ardvark'. i am pretty sure the name stars with an F.

sens lose. good job penguins, we wonder if anderson will start next game.

peace out guys!!!

kendra, vanessa and rebecca

2013 Playoff Updates: Round 1

Hamilton Sushi is the best. Read our review here: http://www.urbanspoon.com/u/profile/2201195

It's the Winkworth sisters here.

We're celebrating Vanessa's "Most Awesome Electrician" award from the Brotherhood of Electricians (which comes with $500 and a job offer!) by ordering Hamilton sushi and watching multiple hockey games (Anaheim @ Detroit, Toronto @ Boston, New York @ Washington, St Louis @ LA). We're bouncing between them all. Try to keep up.

Happy Birthday, Ryan Getzlaff! Even if you're an asshole, we hope you have a good birthday (and by "we", I mean me).

We figure we might as well blog some playoff updates to our fans and most especially Kendra and Tracey (9 blog views from Sri Lanka!) We've had a few people looking for Graham Smith-Peloquin and what's up GSP? Miss ya!

Ottawa booted Montreal out of the running last night. Of course, we are all cheering for the Sens. #JenFunkNeedsTwitter

This week was a long one. "Embrace the new moon, Moonchild".

The #1 team in the northwest (Vancouver) was the first to be out of the playoffs. "Wasn't Montreal #1 in the northeast? Now they're out too" - Ness. Too bad, so sad, Canada.

Talking about Ferens now and that puck he took to the forehead, and is he okay? Toronto wins against Boston. Stephen Harper is tweeting from Boston Pizza (asshole).

Mr. Wink is now on speaker phone to say goodnight (it's 8:52pm).
"Reimer's a good Manitoba boy!" - Dad.
"I'm never cheering for Toronto" - Ness.
"I'm going to go to bed now" - Dad.

We're watching Detroit and they just scored on themselves (Smith). "Who is that guy?" 1:1 Anaheim/Detroit. This is do or die for Detroit tonight. Teemu almost scored. Two octopi on the ice. (If you haven't heard the story behind the Detroit octopus, read it here: http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=43781)

"Howard is the smallest goalie".

Why is TSN Brian Engblom sandwiched between two padded blue walls?! He's forced to announce in a cell that's 1 foot wide. It's like the walls are closing in on him! Where is Shane Hnidy to the rescue?

Zetterberg scores! The crowd remains on their feet. 13 minutes left in the 3rd. 2:1 Detroit.

Vanessa wants to ban the divisions and playoffs should be based on the top 8 teams. "It shouldn't matter where you're from. It's not fair."

I'm trying to get Vanessa to change the channel for a minute so we can check the other scores. No luck. Detroit power play.

Brian Engblom is looking even squishier.

"He didn't feel it where he was supposed to be feeling it" - NBC announcer on Hiller's near non-save.

Abdelkater scores and makes it 3:1 and we are most definitely heading back to Anaheim for game 7. Snoop Dogg / Snoop Lion will hopefully be in attendance for another epic interview with Scott Oake.

"This is the best Friday night ever." - Ness. I am torn, of course because of Teemu.

Update - 0:0 St Louis/LA, OT right now between the Rangers and Caps. Tortellini looks especially tanned this evening.

Back to Detroit. Etem just scored and narrows the gap by only 1 goal with 3 minutes left in the 3rd. Nervoustime! And whoa, Bobby Ryan (wasn't that the name of a guy from the Babysitter's Club books?) scores and ties the game. It got real quiet in Detroit and my living room. Zetterberg near goal bounces off the post. Aaaand we are heading to OT.

NHL History: Detroit is playing 4 OT games in a series.

Back to Washington. Sudden death and Ribeiro scores his first playoff goal as a Washington Capital. Final score 2:1 Washington.

Can we talk about the TSN guys and why they are wearing ridiculous outfits tonight? "They aren't funky guys. They shouldn't be wearing those colours." The only classy guy on the panel is Bob McKenzie.

Speaking of suits, who will replace Don Cherry when he can't do HNIC anymore? Seriously, you guys what's going to happen? I'm worried about this.

Zetterberg scores right away! "That's why he's the captain".

Brian Engblom is now out of his padded cell. He looks okay.

Last game to go: St Louis/LA. Does anyone really care about this game?

Here's what we know about the 2nd rounds by press deadline: Chicago vs Anaheim OR Detroit /  San Jose vs St Louis OR LA / Ottawa vs Pittsburgh OR Islanders / Boston OR Toronto vs Capitals OR Rangers.

Predictions: Chicago vs Anaheim / San Jose vs LA / Ottawa vs Pittsburgh / Toronto vs Caps.

See you soon, Snoop. Looking forward to the next round of playoffs with the rest of the nervoustime crew!

The biggest little smart car that could: A Jets analogy

It's Winnipeg @ Buffalo. The interim Nervoustime crew is watching at the Funk household (Arlington has a healthy representation). Buffalo is out of the playoffs and according to Mrs Winkworth "they should just let us win."

3 GAMES LEFT. THAT IS ALL. It's do or die time.

Apparently we spent the first 10 minutes in the Buffalo zone. No score.

11:00 min into the 1st and Jen needs a needle to finish her knitting project.

Rebecca here. I'm late to the game from Zumba (Flery was on FIRE today), Jen is knitting, Funk Dad is chilling out, Nesse not doing math for the moment, Darcy is readjusting to daylight now that he's back on day shifts.

We've got a bunch of second liners on the ice tonight: Meech, Miettenen, Wright.

We're missing Bogosian, Olli and Slater Jim. Good call by the refs during the Islanders game to not let Bogo fight after his head injury. They took some slack for it but I think it was a good call.

Let's see your sisu, Mittens. Now's the time to tap into that inner wolf.

Jen just finished listening to Harry Potter audio book as read by Stephen Fry. "I cried in the car".

Kane gets a penalty shot after taking a hard hit into the net and a close chance at a goal. He misses, but it's a good try. "Kane would be so good if it was one-on-one hockey."

Gagnon and Santorelli have not even been mentioned in our blog yet. "That doesn't feel right". We love them both. Tangradi is divisive in the room tonight. He sounds like Goofy which makes him pretttty likable.

"So much post action".

Lots of action down in Enroth's kitchen. "It sounds like you're having a baby, Rebecca".

First period over. Outside during the smoke break we checked out Jen and Darcy's new VW truck that makes Jen's smart car look like a double decker bus.

The dips are out. Hot artichoke dip and hummus with (kinda)-handmade tortilla chips! Reuben has his own plate all ready.

Second period begins.

4 min in. Jets power play! Jen still needs a needle.

Power play over but the Jets have some fire now.

Meech to Gagnon with the first GOAL! And Marina Plotts won a Safeway movie package. 1:0 Winnipeg. Gagnon's first goal in the NHL was against Buffalo.

"Love Meech", Vanessa, "He's a former Red Wing and a Manitoba boy".

Jen Funk needs twitter.

Belated happy birthday to all the Aries out there.

"I'm starting a new trend called 'Laces Out' in honour of Pavs". See? This is why Jen Funk needs twitter. #LacesOutWpg could be a hashtag sensation.

Shout out to Kendra and Tracey who are in Sri Lanka looking for an Asian Ron Hansey-look-a-like. Kendra saw the oldest tree in the world today but didn't take a picture of it. Trace, we hope you took some pictures.

"This is good hockey".

Vanek scores for Buffalo and this game is tied.

Jen now has a needle.

Nothing makes you want to cook like going shopping at Delucas. Is there an award for best grocer? Because they should win it.

"Do you think Hainsey will score a goal before we hand him over to the Bruins?", Ness. "Hand him over?! For the low discount price of 6M a year". "Sure, if we can trade him for Chara".

Jets pour on the pressure. Puck off the post "BRRRRRRRINGGGG!" rings through the arena. "How did we not just score?!" "Maybe Buffalo has some 'Ron Hainseys' in their net", Jen.

El Capitan with a great hit on Ott against the boards. Ladd and Ott in a skirmish, try to sort it out but it was a pretty awkward fight. Jets come out on top with a man advantage for 2 min. 25 seconds left in the 2nd period. "They'll wash the ice when they come out for the 3rd period".

1:1 at the end of the 2nd.

Word just in: Wellwood is out for the night. Took a hit to the ankle during the last period. Kyle's been playing so beautifully the last few games, almost scoring a hat trick a couple games ago.

"So Hunny, I'm thinking of driving the truck and getting rid of the smart car. But I have a question for you: where will I put my bumper stickers?", Jen. "I don't know, that's a very good question", Darcy. #CountryProblems

3rd Period Commences. Jets are on the PP and a good chance there by Wheels.

Jen is flossing. I have made a dentist appointment for May 27. Hello to Dr Kettner (if he reads our blog).

Kane gets taken out by two Sabres and wants a penalty but 'no go' say the refs. "Kane wants a penalty after everything", Ness. Long shift.

One of these days Hainsey is going to score a goal.

"I think the refs have put their whistles away".

Have you guys heard about the new Jets trend where you take out the laces from your jersey? #LacesOut #Pavs4Life #JenFunkNeedsTwitter

12:30 left in the 3rd and it's NERVOUSTIME.

Everyone in the room loves Byfuglien. We have quorum.

Where's the SISU boys?

AND MITTENS scores. That is purely coincidental that Mittens scored after I typed that. It got really loud in the Funk living room for a minute there.

2:1 Jets with 7 minutes left in the 3rd.

Is anyone out there playing that Red River Coop Gas Station contest? Jen Funk needs "WINKLER" to win free gas for a year.

It's a Hainsey-Pavalec pile up in the net. Amazing save by Pavs!!! "He might have put some flair on that one", Jen. That's okay with me. We hope that wink was meant for us.

4 min left and why are we stuck in the Jets zone?

50 seconds left empty net Buffalo.

Reuben "that was off-side". Offside called, Buffalo fans let the boos rip. So close, but off-side. The announcers say onside. Nervoustime sides with Reuben.

16 second left after all that commotion.

YOU GUYS THE JETS WON. Next game counts for everything against Washington tomorrow.

Jen went to school with this guy! Contact us if you want to reunite.

hockey night in canada: leafs v. bruins

hi from arlington, first blogpost of the spring. 'do you think these guys pick their own ties, what makes guys attracted to certain ties?" - vanessa

woah i had no idea stephen page was kicked out of the barenaked ladies.

happy belated birthday to zdeno chara.

i announced tomorrow is ron hainsey's birthday and rebecca said 'uh oh. i still think he should suit up as a goalie, he isn't worth it otherwise.' vanessa: 'he is handsome but trade him.'

discussion of older players and their class 'who else is going to teach evander kane not to be a douchebag?"

tyler bozak also celebrated a birthday recently.

rebecca - "i'm not going to the albert anymore if they've raised their prices from the 90s" kadri goal = yikes.

here is where i need to state how terrible i am at fantasy hockey, the guy i am playing this week has kadri and i have like three players on IR which i didn't know or pay attention to.

'how can you punch someone's head with your helmet on' 'colton orr is from winnipeg?" 'he's still an asshole. if you knock his helmet off you take yours off?' vanessa says. rebecca disagrees. "you don't stop fighting to unlatch your helmet." we note colton orr is 31 and is acting a little younger. his horoscope: There is no point arguing with someone whose outlook on life is so very different to your own. he obviously has a different opinion as vanessa.

discussion of how the leafs are easier to like than they have been in the past.

discussion of oduya last years 'amicable breakup'.

who we want in winnipeg, gaborick? there not trading any blackhawks. we actually want phil kessel.

apparently our shoppers got a good review online. good for them.

lesson for young defencemen 'sometimes less is more'

we listened briefly to the band 'cocaine mustache' who are playing tonight at the albert. vanessa 'they remind me of grady and 5440' they reminded both becca and i of nickleback. vanessa begins defending nickleback saying there is a continum from them to the black keys.

just took a sneak peak at avril lavigne's new single 'here's to never growing up' - prediction that colton orr also listened to it today.

any penquins up for trade? thank you to this blog for helping us with your amazing trade deadline chart: http://hypeduphockey.com/category/2013-trade-deadline/

the jets HAVE to win tomorrow hopefully we trade for gonchar and we can celebrate his birthday with him on april 13. also found out elias is available.

the ref down. becca wonders about standby refs. she will explore in her upcoming documentary about refs, they don't have their own medic, have to call on the teams 'what if they made a really bad call and the team's medic doesn't rush out as quickly as he should'

toronto up by two. grabovski who i have in my pool but am not playing this week. still think chara is a babe 'his neck is so long' 'i bet he has more muscles in his neck than i have in my arm'

apparently hnic quoted byfugien's weight as 295 last night.

'i hope every jet went out for coffee with their parents today and chilled out. they all need some close to home time'

congrats to phil kessel's sister 'highest scoring hockey player in the family'

also - welcome back teppo numinen is on. if anyone knows how to get us tickets to the april 9th game against buffalo, please advise.

discussion of how winnipeg is not on bad religion's tour. 'they have an album called true north - it's a sign' bad religion as anthem singers?

chara shot and not working.

james reimer playing well!

can babies go to the albert?

also - idea; bring balloons, blow them up at your seat and write on them with a sharpie and push them down and then thee will be baloons every where saying 'happy birthday hainsey'

finish lesson : sisu means balls or confidence. next sign : 'olli and mittens, show us your sisu'

vanessa reveals selkirk has a 'solid rockabilly community. they are known for old cars'

'is selkirk the capital of rockabilly and nobody knows?'

pj's flipped colllar. 'a tom cruise thing to do. it's not good.'

iginla, best opp to go to a cup contender.

we've discovered pj stock is part owner of a gym in montreal. kris letang works out there, rebecca wonders if they have zumba.

mclearan goal - another guy i have but didn't play this week 3-0 leafs.

bruins score. rask is in.

discussion of jaime lannister and david bergen.

mr. winkworth waves to david bergen, i saw him in delucas last week.

c'mon boston.

here is a link for people wondering about tomorrow's jets game:

the game continues. pretty boring. boston empty net. kadri most def my fave leaf. i need to learn more about him. BOSTON SCORES. nice tie.

who do the canadians fans hate more - the leafs or the bruins?

toronto won. oh well. first time beating the bruins in two years? have a nice night everyone.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY RON HAINSEY AND JAMES WRIGHT AND WELCOME BACK (SOON) TEPPO.

ode to chris pronger.

the chris pronger press conference today deserves for me it's own blog post. one of my favorite hockey memories off all time was taking my nephew to what was my first jet game of the new era and his first hockey game of life (he was five) and it was against the flyers and the crowd was yelling 'pronger' and my nephew wondered why and the guy beside us said 'he's an asshole' and then i kind of tried to explain that his job was to be more of the tough guy but my nephew got really compassionate and said he is just pushing people around a little to protect his friends and then he got really into shaking his head at the crowd when they would yell out "pronger". same year, he stopped believing in santa clause so i gave him a christmas gift from chris pronger who he does believe in. everytime we hang out, including the last jet game we saw together on saturday my nephew mentions CP and how much he misses him and should we send him a get well card.

for me, i like the flyers and i think pronger has played exactly the role in the organization he was supposed to. and how we are all just doing our best. the bhagavad gita says that it's better to do your own duty badly than to perfectly do another's and i guess for me chris pronger did actually do well but did what he had to do.

it was sad today to hear him talking about the pain he goes though or his depressive times and if that isn't what makes you be more compaissonate towards him, i don't know what would. i guess i'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. i can only speak for myself and that chris pronger has been one of the most important hockey players i've seen both on and off the ice and i am so happy that i got to see the (as of now) last game he played in winnipeg although i really hope it isn't his last.

“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”

happy 1000th game marian hossa

what a great sunday. blackhawks detroit original six. we have a teppo numinen card looking over us and we also had thom bargen coffee. it's just becca and kendra. the interesting part of this original six match up is the nervoustime original six is also divided on this game, vanessa is cheering for the wings, rebecca says it's a tough one and suggested looking up the astrological charts for howard and crawford.

crawford is a capricorn:

Any mistakes you make over the next seven days will be magnified by Jupiter’s influence. For that reason alone, it will pay you to be a bit more careful than usual, especially where relationships are concerned.

howard is an aries:

Focus on what you are good at over the next few days. If a hobby or pastime means more to you than your day job, then by all means, spend more time on it. One day, your hobby could make you rich.

(source: globe and mail)

becca notes daily horoscope the phone app says for capricorn it's basically all staying like in your shell today and for aries it's time for new beginnings so she's going with the red wings.

the globes are lookaheads so it doesn't in my view have much to add for this game. i really wonder if mercury retrograde is affecting the league and of course it is the ryan o'reiley conterversy. if i ran the league i wouldn't always hold trade deadline just before the retrograde starts.

i, kendra, am totally cheering for the blackhawks mostly because they are my sisters fave team but also because partick kane's quote last summer about how he knew there were things he could change about himself was the most inspiriing hockey quote i've heard since you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

almost time for the third period!!!

rebecca notes two redwings are from mb, too too and ian white. well jonathan toews is so cool he equals two people.

looks like detroit has lost about half their games. last meeting between these two was in january, overtime lost for the wings.

patrick sharp, from thunder bay also counts as a manitoban 3-2 blackhawks, petition to include all of the canadian shield in manitoba upcoming.

rebecca 'i wish someone would score'

(that's how i felt about the jet game yesterday) ovechkin is still so good looking, i need to remind myself of this everyday.

'you don't let anyone fight for you unless you are teppo numinen and tie domi is on your team. where is tie domi, is he on twitter?'

we think he may but it isn't verified

woah red wings goal. as we were trying to find tie domi on twitter. becca blames the goal on crawford staying in his net and being a hermit.

still think there should be some blackhawks action upcoming. rebecca talked about the excitment last night montreal pittsburgh, she likes high scoring games.

we had no idea rob schnieder was in town and rebecca wonders if he is more famous than mr. belding.

discussion of steven harper, i have never heard any rumours about him. becca 'he is the only person that i follow on twitter that i hate. do you follow anyone you hate on twitter?" i don't. i think the only person i might hate is raffi torres. just kidding mike camelairi, no, maybe carey price only because of the story graham told me about the montreal coach.  this is a story for another time. maybe i should start following carey price on twitter to work on becoming more compassionate.

shoutout to the thom bargen croissants, so good!

tatar, 'like babar' 'BABAR IS AWESOME!' i would like to see a team with babar as the logo.

we aren't sure who graham would be cheering for. mark would be cheering for the devils even though they aren't playing.

that was a solid crawford safe, defying his astrological projection, 'come out of your shell!'

talk about coming out of his shell, oduya 'i don't think he had the same spirit when he was here'

this could be a record breaker, still lots of time. six minutes.

we are noticing more smothering of the puck that isn't called these days. apparently yesterday someone took it with their hand.

these guys are fast fast fast.

five mins left, still 1-0 detroit.

penalty. ha.

patrick kane!!!!! 'ever the opportunist'

the announcer is on fire.

another penalty.

THE STREAK IS INTACT, 22! hopefully it goes until 27 - numinen and oduya.

overtime is coming up......

i'd like to see hossa score the game winner, obviously. rebecca agrees.

the coach just had a piece of gum, i wonder if he's obligated to chew red gum for the team. personally, i would't mind as cinamon gum is my fave.

two minutes left in ot .

rebecca still working on her ref documentary 'so amazing in my head'

hello finland readers, we thank you very much for your support could you leave a comment and we will try to visit you.

also everyone, check out our facebook page, and our twitter accounts @nessnervoustime, @nervoustimek @rwinkworth and now overtime is over.

shoot out. great work by everyone and where are they going to put hossa.i think hawks will be kane, toews hossa, maybe not?

zetterberg probably on the wings. tatar? is that a rule that you put your goalscorer in the shootout, i mean like a karmic rule. becca comments you can put your goalie in the shootout, that i'd like to see along with mid game trade.

datsyuk up. miss.

pavel always reminds me of 'fivel'.

toews. miss.

brunner. so wide. maybe he's a capricorn

pk. so nice. that was the best. that was like 'what they do in the tournaments'

unbelievable.

congrats blackhawks fans, our lives are really happy and spring is coming. rebecca 'i never thought id' feel bad for the underdog redwings.'

final thought, patick kane horoscope:

You can, if you want, find a thousand reasons to alter course over the next few days, but the planets warn you must keep faith in the route you have chosen. You’re halfway to your destination, so why change now? (scorpio)

the phone says don't miss the forrest for the trees, don't hyperfocus. we think that's why he slowed down.

have a great day everyone.

xo becca and kenny g for nervoustime.

"That's it! Back to Winnipeg!"

Present: Ness, Eric, Darcy, Jen and Becca. En route: Tracey, Gene, Joey, Vanessa, Megan, Nick, Lauren.

Live from Fox and Fiddle. Our cousin Kyle is working and we get hugs at the door. Shout out to Rick for hooking us up with VIP treatment and free nachos. We heartily endorse the place so far, and will hereby consider this the beginning of a long and mutually prosperous sponsorship.

Speaking of sponsorships, I always enjoy seeing DKNY on the rangers ice.

It's Jets vs Rangers and the end of their long road trip.

The first order of nachos have arrived. "These are delicious. Phenomenal."

Eric arrives!

Good start to the jets, they're playing great so far. Miettenen isnt playing tonight. "Poor Mittens, kneed in the groin only 17 seconds into his first game back."

And now the wings are here not even 12 minutes into the 1st period.

"Great penalty killing, boys" - Jen.

Nick and Lauren arrive!

The chicken wings are so big it feels like eating dinosaurs. There was a flavour mix up between Nesse's teriyaki and Eric's Peppercorn bourbon. Both are happy to have their flavours back.

Joey, Megan and Vanessa arrive and they smell like patchouli!

Start of the 2nd period.

Discussion of Art and Soul last Saturday. We lost Tracey and Gene by the end of the night. Text messages were delayed and Mercury was in retrograde. "Did you travel to Narnia?" - Joey.

Someone announces: "This is all stoner food". Fries arrive.

"I can't believe nobody's scored yet" - Nesse. Yeah but they're playing pretty lazily this period so far.

"Dingly dangly" - J Funk.

Shot of Cuba Gooding Jr in the crowd. Wondering where all the other famous celebrities are, like Constantine from Winnipeg. "If Cuba's the most famous person in the house tonight, New York, then that's kind of sad."

But wait!

Olli with the first goal. That's some Finnish Patience right there. "Is that like the English Patient? Next blockbuster 'The Finnish Patience' starring Olli Jokinen and Rebecca'"- Ness.

And one minute later Kane with an assist from Clitty with a miraculous 2nd goal, bouncing off the goal posts inside the net and then back out.

The Rangers fans behind the bench are holding real glasses which makes us wonder if Winnipeg fans could make this happen.

The Rangers hit back and Pavs is making some beautiful saves. Pavs was at Eric's restaurant a couple weeks ago. He ordered filet and had "very pretty eyes". "Probably so pretty you'd let him drive you home drunk." - Jen. Oooooooooooh snap.

2:0 Jets. That was a great 2 minutes of hockey.

We at nervoustime would like to say how much we love Zach Redmond and how grateful we are that he's ok. Get well soon, Zach! Keep your chin up, kid.

Callahan scores for NY. 2:1 Jets.

How great is it to have Buff back?! #buffunchained is pretty much the best hash tag of 2013 so far.

Bogey is beautiful. Those eyebrows.

It is really hard to live blog on a smart phone.

Olli scores again! Nice pass from Peluso! (Thanks for holding Zach Redmond's thigh together, Anthony. New found respect and admiration for ya).

End of the 2nd. 3:1 Jets.

The columns in this place are fantastic. Marble columns and floor. "It feels way too classy to be called a 'bar' or 'sports lounge'". More like an 'experience'. "I can imagine myself watching this game in Manhattan" - Ness.

There should be more fanfare at the beginning if each period. Like a cannon or fireworks. We missed 17 seconds.

Talking about trades. I (Rebecca) am not sold on Postma. Yet.

It feels really fancy watching the game here. "I nominate the Fox and Fiddle as the nervoustime bar"- Jen funk. "I second that emotion".- Nesse.

Weddings are stressful. That is all.

The guy outside smoking called Darcy the "guy with the hair". No arguing with that.

Darren Dreger looks uncomfortable when he's not standing behind the desk.

Let's start this 3rd period. "It's started!!!" Fanfare. (Jen)

Jets power play. Tortellini looks pissed but it was clearly a tripping penalty.

If Olli gets a hat trick everyone is doing a shot.

Pretty lame penalty kill. "Somebody hit somebody!" It's getting rowdy.

NYs Pyatt scored. 15 seconds later and it's Kane with the 4th Jets goal!

If Kane gets a hat trick we're not doing shots.

And then Stralman scores. It's 4:3 jets. 8 min left.

More nachos are being passed around. Nobody wants them anymore, everyone is so stuffed. Order more beer though.

Slater gets called for holding. "Bullshit". The bar is getting louder and we're not the only ones yelling anymore.

We hereby nominate Hainsey as back up goalie.

Throwback gossip about Bertuzzi.

Empty net NY. Nervoustime!

Game over, final score 4:3 Jets. Amazing game! Love from Nervoustime. xo
